Breadths of additional optoelectronic applications are also possible with SANTE™ Films:
The transparent conductive mesh of a SANTE™ Film can be used as an electrode in inorganic electroluminescent applications and organic light emitting diode (OLEDs) applications. In particular, the low resistance of the mesh allows lighting designers the opportunity to increase system size without the need for additional busbars.
Whether it is the conventional electroluminescent technology of a night light in a child’s bedroom or gentle blue backlighting of the numbers on a cell phone number pad, or the next generation of general lighting in displays in the form of high efficiency and brightness OLED technology, SANTETM Films are poised to improve performance and manufacturing across the spectrum.
Electrophoretic display manufacturers are driving towards truly flexible displays to roll up after use. So called “E-Paper,” with screens having the functionality of a conventional computer screen or television, yet having a flexibility and thickness of a sheet of paper, are rapidly entering the market.
However, conventional electrode physical properties are a fundamental concern in such flexible applications. A transparent electrode on top of each pixel is needed, and flexibility is paramount. SANTE™ Films can replace the transparent conductors in such applications and gain the breadth of product performance sought.
Transparent heaters are of use in diverse applications, from defrosters and defoggers on windows, to heaters necessary to maintain constant or minimum temperatures in rugged environments using LCDs. SANTE™ Films allow for an affordable and robust transparent heating element in such environments.
